Bloemfontein – A 24-year old-man was stabbed to death on Saturday afternoon in Botshabelo outside Bloemfontein, Free State police said.

The man was found lying in a pool of blood at Section C in Botshabelo, Constable Peter Kareli said.

He said the man had a stab wound to his chest.

"It is not clear what fuelled the stabbing, but community members who witnessed the incident managed to chase the suspect and handed him to the police," he said.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Botshabelo Magistrate’s Court soon.
