Here's how to keep you and your family safe on the roads this festive season.WATCH

Bloemfontein – The Free State health department has set up mobile clinics on the national roads that pass through the province, in a bid to limit accidents during the holiday season.

"We will be testing road users for high-blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar levels and hypertension. We will also give motorist useful health safety tips,"  spokesperson Mondli Mvambi said on Thursday.

The province has recorded a number of accidents since the beginning of the festive season.

"We will be occupying the N1, N3, N5, N6 and the N8 during this festive season," Mvambi told News24.

"We are working together with the emergency services and believe that Operation Arrive Healthy will help reduce accidents and ensure the safety of those who will be travelling long distances."

He said they decided to complement the Arrive Alive campaign, and hoped road users would participate in the campaign.

Over 20 health specialists had been deployed to offer health services to motorists.
