Pietermaritzburg - Two men who may have links to the notorious Gadget Gang have been arrested by a special Pietermaritzburg police task force.

Using evidence from informants, a tracing team put together by Pietermaritzburg police station commander Brigadier Bongumusa Zondi arrested two men for the possession of electronics believed to be stolen. The task team were established specifically to hunt the Gadget Gang, who have burgled seven schools in and around Pietermaritzburg since last year, stealing computers and electronic equipment only.

The team bust the two men in their flat in Pietermaritz Street yesterday and found three television sets, a welding machine, and 17 cellphones.

The two men were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
