Durban – An 8-year-old girl is in a stable condition after she was rescued from a pipe in St Faith’s village, KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said on Tuesday.

EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said they were called on Tuesday afternoon, after the girl had been stuck for more than an hour. The village is about 60km north-west of Port Shepstone.

The pipe used to be connected to a tap. It took paramedics about 45 minutes to free the girl.

It was not clear how she got stuck in the pipe, he said.
