Durban - A seven-year-old girl who was seated at the back of a bakkie was killed when their vehicle was rear-ended by another car on Saturday evening in KwaZulu-Natal , said paramedics.

The incident happened on the N2 South near the Higginson Highway, said Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha.

"A further nine people miraculously escaped with only minor injuries. Medics treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required," Botha said.
