Cape Town - Anger swept through the benches of the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court when murder accused Cameron Wilson made a formal bail application on Tuesday.

Orderlies had their hands full when Valhalla Park and Nooitgedacht residents in the gallery shouted, "Give him to us!", as they made their way out of the courtroom.

Courtgoers demanded justice for Lekita Moore, 18, who was stabbed and mutilated last month.

The teenager was found dead on a field in Nooitgedacht in September. She had left home the night before to go to a karaoke party in neighbouring Valhalla Park.

She was naked with knife wounds to her upper body. One of her nipples and her vagina had been mutilated.

Outside the court, residents shouted, "Gaan tronk toe, jou vuilgat!" and chanted, "No bail for murderers; justice for Lekita".

Wilson, dressed in a tracksuit, appeared relaxed in the dock, ignoring hissing courtgoers during proceedings.

The matter was postponed to October 20.
