Cape Town - Award-winning wildlife and underwater photographer, Tracey Jennings has sought the help of social media users to find her missing teddy bear, Bob.

Bob went missing in Cape Town while Tracey had stepped out of her rental apartment at the V&A Marina complex on Saturday.

She says she realised a few hours later that he was missing. “I dropped a friend off at the airport and returned home."

"I cannot believe he is missing; he must have dropped out of my bag or was stolen."

"I spent the last five hours searching the apartment, car, spoke to security, drove to the airport, spoke to the police at the airport," Tracey said on the day.

So, what makes Bob so special?

Tracey says the teddy bear was a gift from a friend who committed suicide. “I know he is just a teddy bear but he was a gift from one of my greatest friends and flat mates at university who subsequently committed suicide.

“He was supposed to watch over me and I over him. It was the last thing my friend said to me. Travelling with Bob was like Robert still being around,” Tracey said.

She’s offered a reward of R1 000 for his return. “I'd pay more if I thought that it would help him be found faster,” Tracey said.
