Hijackers shoot couple in legs before fleeing

Pietermaritzburg - A couple was shot in both legs by hijackers on Golden Way Road in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal on Saturday night.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said in a statement that when paramedics arrived, they found the man and woman had sustained gunshot wounds.

"Both patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Grey's Hospital for further treatment. The apparent hijackers were... not found on the scene."

The vehicle was taken.
