Hive of activity outside High Court

Pretoria - There was a hive of activity outside the High Court in Pretoria as media houses set up to cover convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius's brief appearance to postpone sentencing proceedings.

Cameras have already been lined up in front of the court entrance with others across the street.

There is also a small group calling itself Worldwide Supporters of Oscar Pistorius with a banner and placards.

The group's Don Hassett said they wanted to show Pistorius that he had support.

"We followed the trial and we feel a lot of injustice was displayed to Oscar. It has been a trial by media. It was to his detriment," she said.

The sitting on Monday is expected to be a a quick postponement of sentencing hearing.

Pistorius's sentencing will take place between June 13 and June 17. He, however, still needed to appear in court on Monday in order to postpone the sentencing.

The Constitutional Court previously dismissed Pistorius's application for leave to appeal his conviction, and he now faces a minimum sentence of 15 years, unless he can provide substantial and compelling reasons to deviate from this prescribed sentence.

Pistorius served one-sixth of his five-year sentence in prison and was released in October to serve the remainder under correctional supervision.

He shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, stating he mistook her for an intruder.
