Joburg mops up after floods

Johannesburg – Mopping up operations are under way in Johannesburg after a flash flood on Wednesday afternoon caused chaos on the city’s roads.

Seven people are believed to be missing after their vehicles washed away, the Johannesburg Metro Police Department said on Wednesday night.

One person is believed to have drowned. Hundreds of people also needed rescuing.

The flash flood also caused chaos at OR Tambo International Airport, with flights delayed and buildings flooded.
