Durban - KwaZulu-Natal police recovered suspected stolen cars and goats and confiscated 56kg of dagga on Tuesday.

Amangwe police followed up on information about a stolen car in the Mqedandaba area, Lieutenant-Colonel Shooz Magudulela said.

This led officers to a homestead at 02:00, where they found a red bakkie. They arrested a 36-year-old man and confiscated the 11 goats in the bakkie when he could not prove that they were his.

The bakkie was stolen in Harrismith earlier this month. A brown Toyota Corolla parked in the same yard was stolen in Howick in August.

Magudulela said officers went to Nyezane, where they found dagga weighing 56kg in a homestead.

“A 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of the dagga. The dagga has an estimated street value of around R80 000.”

Both men were expected to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court soon.
