KZN woman savaged while trying to save her dog from two other dogs

Durban – A 58-year-old KwaZulu-Natal woman has been severely injured after trying to protect her dog from being attacked by other dogs, paramedics said on Monday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the reports from the scene indicated that the woman was trying to protect her dog from being bitten by two other dogs when she was attacked on Umgeni View Road in Crestholme, Kloof.

"Netcare 911 paramedics have managed to stabilise the woman on scene. She is being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

"Her dog, which was also wounded in the attack, has been taken to a local vet for further medical care," Mathe said.
