IN SUMMARY: President Jacob Zuma began his Q&A by addressing Parliament on his trip to Nigeria. But not long after, DA leader Mmusi Maimane asked Zuma to clear up the concerns over claims that the Gupta family had offered Cabinet posts to various ANC politicians.

Zuma, somewhat touchily, replied that if Maimane wanted to know about the claims, he should ask the Guptas or the MPs concerned.

Maimane later, by this point quite angry, tried asking the president about the allegations. House Speaker Baleka Mbete then told Maimane to take his seat as he was interrupting Zuma. Maimane refused and was ordered to leave the House. DA MPs in solidarity with their leader walked out with him.

This left rows of benches in the Assembly empty as both DA and EFF MPs were missing.

Zuma later answered questions concerning the saga between Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and Sars saying that he was looking into the matter.

Answering a question about university fees and accommodation, he said that a task team had been appointed to look into higher education.

The Assembly concluded the matter at about 15:30.
