Johannesburg - A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and strangling his wife in Katlehong, on the East Rand, apparently after he accused her of having an affair, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.

Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said the 32-year-old found his wife on the street with another man on Sunday morning.

He let the man walk away, and allegedly forced his 29-year-old wife into their shack. There he allegedly stabbed and strangled her.

He apparently left the body there and went to stay with his brother in Alexandra. He returned to the decomposing body on Monday night and reported the matter to police. He would appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court soon.
