Man, boy die in Paarl shack fire

Cape Town - Two Paarl East residents, including a 9-year-old boy, died in a shack fire early on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Andrè Traut confirmed the boy's death, as well as the death of a 30-year-old man.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.

"A death inquest case docket has been registered and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated," Traut said.
