Man sets himself alight inside Montecasino

Johannesburg - A man has died after setting himself on fire at Johannesburg's Montecasino on Sunday afternoon, paramedics said.

Johannesburg Emergency Management Services [EMS] spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said the man allegedly poured petrol over himself before setting himself alight. He died on the scene.

The man has not yet been identified and the motive behind the act is being investigated. 

According to Montecasino's Twitter account the incident happened outside one of the restaurants.

An investigation into the incident is currently under way.
