Johannesburg - A man who allegedly killed his children by slitting their throats before stabbing their mother, has been found dead in Phomolong, Tembisa, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

According to the SA Police Service's Twitter account, a man killed his 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son and stabbed and wounded their mother on Wednesday night.

Gauteng police spokesperson Tshekiso Mofokeng was currently at the scene where the man's body was found on Thursday morning. He could not immediately confirm the man's identity.

Mofokeng said he would provide further details later.
