2016-08-03 08:10

Bloemfontein - A large group of Mangaung residents queuing outside Rekgonne Primary School on a cold Wednesday morning threatening to leave the voting station after it failed to open on time.

The station was still not open by 07:40. IEC officials said they were still waiting for a scanner in order to proceed.

"We have been been queuing here since early hours and now they are delaying. At this rate we might as well leave. I left my three children at home and this is unacceptable," Likotsi Likotsi told News24.

Another resident said he was hoping to cast his vote before going to work.

"I am on standby and now the weather is getting worse. This voting station has always been problematic. This always happens whenever there is elections."
