Mechanical failure cripples Rooikat on N3

Johannesburg – Motorists were left scratching their heads at the sight of a Rooikat armoured vehicle at a standstill on the N3 near the Gillooly’s interchange on Wednesday.

SANDF spokesperson Colonel Ronald Maseko said two Rooikat armoured vehicles were on their way to Heidelberg, for a passing-out parade, when one broke down.

“One of the two vehicles had experienced mechanical problems and had to be transported back to its unit,” he said.
