Mysterious Danny Jordaan, Zuma billboard erected in PE

Port Elizabeth - A mysterious billboard was erected in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday displaying the message "Danny Jordaan, proudly brought to you by Jacob Zuma".

The billboard was erected in Kempston Road, conveniently placed between two Democratic Alliance billboards, and branded in ANC colours.

According to The Herald, Jordaan’s chief of staff Mlungisi Ncame said he did not know who was responsible, but had asked officials to remove the billboard.

DA mayoral candidate Atholl Trollip's spokesperson Kristoff Adelbert said he was not sure if the party was responsible, as the party’s marketing was handled by the national office, The Rand Daily Mail reported.

No one has taken responsibility for the billboard, The Herald reported on Wednesday.

Trollip meanwhile said on Thursday that only Jordaan and President Jacob Zuma were smiling, while the people of Port Elizabeth want jobs, PowerFM reported.

Trollip was speaking on Thursday morning from the steps of The Donkin Reserve in the city.

Earlier this week, Jordaan pulled out of a debate with Trollip, with some claiming the Nelson Mandela Bay mayor was "scared", Eyewitness News reported.

Jordaan's spokesperson said there was nothing underhanded about pulling out as he did not confirm he would partake, and the mayor was not "scared" to debate.
