Durban – A man has been killed after attempting to flee armed assailants at KwaMashu's A-section in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Crisis Medical spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, told News24 that witnesses said the man was believed to have brought his vehicle to a halt at a bus stop when an unknown number of assailants attacked him.

“Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on the scene in KwaMashu's A-section to find the man lying in a sports field near the men's hostel.

“On closer inspection it was discovered the man suffered multiple fatal gunshot wounds to both his head and chest. Unfortunately nothing could be done to assist him and he was declared dead on arrival.”

Van Reenen said police are investigating the crime.
