Durban – A man was killed and four others injured during a collision on the N2 in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said on Sunday.

The incident happened at 21:15 on the N2 south opposite Kuswag High School, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

“A vehicle had broken down at the side of the south bound lane when banother vehicle came hurtling down the highway and rear-ended the stationary car and then slammed into the driver who was standing by his vehicle,” he said.

Paramedics from various services arrived at the scene and found that the vehicle that had rear-ended the stationary car had veered across the centre median.

“After the injured were examined it was found that one man tragically died before our arrival,” he said.

The four injured were taken to hospital.
