Johannesburg – Motorists have been warned to expect heavy delays after a man was killed on Monday morning in a collision involving a minibus taxi and another vehicle in Nooitgedacht.

The accident occurred on the R114 between the R512 and Cedar Road, north of Johannesburg.

According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, the taxi overturned during the collision and landed on its wheels in an open veld next to the road.

A man in his 20's, believed to be a pedestrian, was found lying in the road next to another vehicle and paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

The driver was the only occupant and was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is still unknown and the Johannesburg Metro Police were at the scene to conduct an investigation.
