Durban - The ANCYL youth month rally in KwaZulu-Natal got off to a rocky start on Saturday morning.

While thousands of people started to gather at the Kings Park Stadium where President Jacob Zuma and ANC Youth League president Collen Maine were expected to make an address, others gathered at the ANC provincial office.

Zuma was expected to stop at the party's provincial office before making his way to the stadium.

While members waited for the president they danced and were kept entertained by various artists.

Some members, who appeared drunk, gyrated in front of young children.

Another man, ran around with a can of Sprite with smoke coming out of it. He was said to be chasing away bad spirits ahead of the local government elections.

Earlier, security chased away a man who was holding what appeared to be alcohol in a brown packet.
