PICS: Major delays after horror Mini Cooper crash on N1

Cape Town – Two people were left critically injured when their Mini Cooper was left in a mangled wreck following a horror crash on the N1 in Cape Town on Friday morning.

One lane was closed as emergency staff worked to rescue the injured and clear the scene.

Western Cape Traffic head Kenny Africa told Eyewitness News that the cause of the crash was unclear.

All lanes have been reopened but motorists are still experiencing heavy delays.

Adding to travel woes in the city, Metrorail has warned commuters of service alerts on its train lines meaning that delays on various routes can be expected.
