Cape Town - Eight alleged pizza robbers have been arrested after they held up a delivery man in Sheraton Park on Monday night.

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said three women and five men are being held at the Muizenberg police station on charges of robbery and possession of stolen property following the heist in Midmar Road.

The 23-year-old pizza delivery man was held up at gun point while delivering an order from a pizza shop in Tokai, Van Wyk said.

“[He] was robbed of pizzas, an undisclosed amount of cash, a cellphone and his delivery scooter. He however managed to escape and a local resident gave him a lift back to the pizza store.”

The motorbike was fitted with a tracking device which showed it was in Avenue La Brenton in Coniston Park.
Police responded and found the motorbike and the eight suspects in the vicinity.

Three women, aged between 28 and 37, and five men, aged between 25 and 68, have been charged and are expected in court soon, Van Wyk said.
