Durban – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Bergville school teacher in March, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Major Shooz Magudulela said police had followed a lead directed them to a bus stop at Isipingo where the suspect was arrested.

"On 11 March, 2016, the deceased, Raymond Mabizela, 47, who was a school teacher at Bergville, was allegedly lured by his girlfriend, Fikelephi Ngubane, 28, to Wembezi," Magudulela said.

Mabizela was allegedly kidnapped by another boyfriend of Ngubane's.

His decomposed body and his burnt out vehicle was found later.

Police subsequently arrested Ngubane, who appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate's Court. The case was remanded until May 6 for a bail application.

The second suspect is expected to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
