Pretoria - SA Airlink has denied that one of its planes was hijacked en route from Cape Town to Wonderboom airport on Monday morning.

It said its 72 passengers and 4 crew members aboard SA8678 were safe.

- Are you there? Were you on the plane? Send us your eyewitness accounts and photos.

This came after numerous reports that the plane had been hijacked.

The airline said in a tweet that the hijack alert for the flight "appears to be an anomaly".

Reports indicated that the radar system sent out an incorrect signal.

"We have been in contact with our pilots & can confirm that no hijacking has taken place," SA Airlink earlier confirmed.
