School children injured in Durban taxi crash

Durban – A total of 19 people, the majority of them school children, were injured after a taxi crashed into another vehicle on Fisher Road in Hillcrest on Monday morning, paramedics said.

Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the taxi was transporting school children.

Jamieson said approximately 17 children under the age of 13 were injured.

Several patients were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals.

Authorities are on the scene.
