Cape Town - A pair of siblings and their elderly father appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate's Court on Monday after 250 guns and ammunition were found in an underground safe in Valhalla Park.

Johannes Abrahams, 66, Johannes Abrahams Junior, 41, and Bonnita Abrahams, 34, face charges of illegal firearm and ammunition possession following the discovery of the arms cache on the Cape Flats on Friday.

Police pounced on the property following a tip-off and uncovered the 9mm pistols, ammunition, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Five people were originally arrested. The State however withdrew its case against two of the accused, Clive van Schalkwyk and Shahid Mohamed.

The case was postponed to Thursday for bail information.
