Cape Town - The bail application of the two men accused of killing teenager Sinoxolo Mafevuka has now entered its third month after the matter was again postponed in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Magistrate Xolani Menyiwe told both the prosecutor and defence that the matter would be wrapped up on June 23 after proceedings failed to commence.

This was as investigating officer Isaac Tshabalala said he had to attend to matters at the Western Cape High Court after waiting for two hours for the case to begin.

Defence lawyer Thabo Nogemane said he had informed the court he had other cases to handle on Wednesday morning.

Frustrated supporters and loved ones grumbled after the new date was confirmed.

"Yho, this justice system is slow," one woman commented.

The two accused - aged 22 and 26 - are cousins of Mafevuka's boyfriend.

The 19-year-old was strangled and raped. Her body was discovered in a communal toilet block in Town Two on March 2.

She was slumped naked over a toilet. Her clothes had been stuffed into the cistern.

A leaking toilet is believed to have washed DNA evidence away.
