Social media users see funny side to elections

2016-08-05 16:47

Cape Town - Heard the one about Jesus being spotted making his way to Nelson Mandela Bay? Or, "Where's Danny [Jordaan]?"

Some social media users saw the funny side of the local government elections as the serious business of counting ballots was continuing on Friday.

Technically, KwaNxamalala - the village where President Jacob Zuma's homestead is located - is an ANC ward, but the IFP won the Nkandla municipality, which falls under the Uthungulu District Municipality.

Some twitter users claimed to have spotted Jesus in the streets of Nelson Mandela Bay, mocking President Jacob Zuma who proclaimed during the 2014 general elections that the ANC would rule "until Jesus returns".

Jessie Duarte does the maths – and it doesn't look good.

Know the difference.

Fikile Mbalula on the lookout for anxiety.

According to this parody account, it appears the people have spoken.

And has anyone spotted Danny Jordaan?
