Johannesburg – Just moments after finishing a media briefing in Johannesburg, EFF leader Julius Malema was handed a summons by police over an incident at the University of the Free State in 2014.

Students must not give up their fight for free education and they must not be discouraged by rubber bullets or teargas, EFF leader Julius Malema said on Thursday.

Addressing journalists at a briefing, the EFF commander-in-chief urged university vice-chancellors to “stop behaving like there is a battle against them, there is a battle against a failed government”.

The fight for free education is one of the reasons the party will be doing a mass march on November 2 in Tshwane.  The protest will also address state capture and demands that President Jacob Zuma and NPA head Shaun Abrahams step down from their positions.

“The shutdown must continue, the state has collapsed, we are on autopilot,” Malema said.
