Cape Town – The assault case against a pupil from Lückhoff High School in Idas Valley, Stellenbosch, who allegedly bullied a fellow pupil, has been postponed until next year, Netwerk24 reported.

The case was heard in camera and postponed to January 7 by the Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, Western Cape National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said.

In addition to the court case, the girl was facing a disciplinary hearing at the school. A video of the pupil attacking another girl at the school on November 24 was shared on social media this week.

A second video of a bullying attack at the same school surfaced on Tuesday. An assault case had been opened and the matter would be heard in court soon.

Both attackers were girls.

The Western Cape education department said the school admitted its current disciplinary measures were inadequate. The school was planning to take preventative steps for the new year.
