Three killed after cars crash head-on and burst into flames

Kuruman - Three people were killed when two cars collided head-on and caught fire on the N14 highway near Kathu in the Northern Cape on Friday morning, paramedics said. 

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found both vehicles alight, along with part of the nearby veld. 

The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue Services. 

"From what could be established at the time, there was one person in one car and two in the second car," Bodasing said. 

The cause of the accident was being investigated.
