Toddler among 3 killed in KZN crash

Durban – KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Services have pleaded with drivers to drive carefully when taking long trips following the deaths of three people in an accident on Saturday morning.

Spokesperson for KZN EMS, Robert McKenzie, said two adults and a three-year-old were killed when a minibus overturned on the R617 near Franklin.

He said paramedics received information at around 08:00 on Saturday morning that the crash involved a single vehicle, the minibus, which had overturned.

McKenzie said a total of nine people were injured, three critically. Three more were in a serious condition and the other three suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the accident was being investigated by authorities.
