SABC names new CEO; Motsoeneng denies censorship

South Africa’s public broadcaster again grabbed headlines on Tuesday when it announced that James Aguma was the new SABC CEO after acting group boss Jimi Matthews resigned because of what he called a “corrosive atmosphere”.

 SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng scoffed at the claims and said rumours of censorship - what he termed “an English concept” - at the broadcaster were unfounded.

Drake shoots music video in SA and takes pics with fans

After jetting into South Africa on Friday via Lanseria Airport, US rapper Drake has been keeping a busy schedule. In between having a good time in Melrose Arch, Drake also made time to visit the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg and to shoot a music video.

According to a Drake fanpage on Twitter, Drake shot his video for One Dance featuring Kyla and Wizkid in Jozi and he even took some time to pose for pics with fans while on set.

Florida man scams woman into sex by posing as country star Jason Aldean

Authorities say a Tampa Bay-area man swindled a mentally disabled woman and convinced her to have sex with him by pretending to be country music star Jason Aldean. Largo Police tell WFLA-TV that 27-year-old Daniel Michael Farris of St Petersburg posed on Facebook as Aldean and as a friend of the singer.

According to an affidavit obtained by the news station, the victim believed Farris was Aldean, and Farris convinced her to pay him $230 over two different occasions and engage in sexual intercourse with him.
