Cape Town – Two men were arrested for allegedly firing shots between houses in Beacon Valley, Cape Town, at the weekend.

Officers were attending to a shooting scene in Hengelaar Street on Saturday when they heard gunshots nearby, said Captain Frederick van Wyk.

They moved to Korfbal Street and spotted two men running away. Tip-offs helped track the men to a house in Lentegeur.

Officers searched the premises and found a .38 special revolver containing five rounds of ammunition hidden in the ceiling.

Two men, both 19, were detained at the Lentegeur police station.

They would face charges of discharging a firearm in a municipal area and illegal possession of a firearm.
