Johannesburg - The two men who were apparently trapped in the wreckage of a structural collapse at a construction site in Sandton on Tuesday have been rushed to hospital, paramedics said.
 
"On inspection, paramedics discovered that two men had fallen through some scaffolding."

"Paramedics immediately assessed both men and found that they were in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

"Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent treatment, one by ER24 and the second by another private service."

Emer-G-Med said earlier that the two were trapped inside the wreckage.

The cause of the collapse was being investigated.
