Pretoria - The family of media personality Hope Zinde had expected her to achieve even more in her life and to continue being a blessing to them.

"It is very difficult but however, it is only God the Almighty who knows. It will be very proper and fitting that I must thank the Almighty for having blessed us with a person of the calibre of Hope," family representative Jackie Letshufi said at her memorial service in Pretoria on Friday.

"We had still expected quite a lot from her, we were still enjoying and saying, 'God you gave us a very wonderful gift that will take us far as a family'. But however, as it is the Almighty who knows our coming into this world, he knows when we are going to leave this world.”

Several people shed tears as they remembered Hope.

Zinde's son, Warona Mark Zinde, 23, was arrested last week in connection with his mother's death. Drugs were allegedly found in his possession.

Her body was found in the boot of her Range Rover at her home in the Pecanwood Estate, Hartebeespoort, on Saturday, after a family friend went looking for her.

The friend allegedly saw Mark peeping through the curtains of the home.

According to police reports, the family friend had tried unsuccessfully to make contact with Mark Zinde when they could not reach Hope, but he had refused to open the door.

He only opened when police arrived. They noticed bloody marks leading from the bathroom to the garage.
Letshufi thanked friends and colleagues for their support since Hope's death.

"Some said to us, as much as you're hurt, God will be there for you. The Almighty will be there to heal you. Those words go deeply into our hearts. As much as sometimes it is difficult," he said.

Letshufi called on relatives to thank God for having allowed Hope to be part of their lives.
