Woman dies in car crash near Durban airport

Durban - A woman was killed and two other people injured in a collision on the M65, near the King Shaka International Airport on Friday, paramedics said.

"Reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in a side impact collision at the traffic lights of the M65... airport junction," Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said.

"The critically injured patient suddenly went into cardiac arrest on scene, medics immediately placed her on a ventilator and started with advanced life support resuscitation."

However, the 65-year-old woman died on the scene.

The two injured were in a serious condition.
