Judge Masipa is due to deliver a verdict in Oscar Pistorius's trial today. Here are all the pictures from the North Gauteng High Court as it happens.

Cape Town - As Oscar Pistorius's five-month murder trial draws to a close, we look back at some of the most dramatic moments.

The first criminal trial to be fully televised live in South Africa, details of the death of Reeva Steenkamp have unravelled amid tears and gasps in court.

Here, we look at five of the most memorable moments.

1) The sick bucket

Pistorius’s tears gave way to retching on Day Six, as the details of Steenkamp’s post-mortem emerged.

He vomited into a bucket as the court heard how Reeva died of multiple gunshot wounds - to her head, arm and thigh.

Steenkamp’s family and friends in court wept as pathologist Gert Saayman described how she was shot with "black talon" bullets which are "designed to cause maximum damage".

A pale Pistorius was comforted by his brother Carl as he continued to vomit throughout the afternoon.

2) The 'zombie-stopper' video

A video of Pistorius at a shooting range was played by the prosecution on 9 April.

Pistorius was shown firing a handgun at a watermelon, with friends whooping in triumph as it exploded.

Pistorius is heard saying: "It's not as soft as brains but fuck it's a zombie stopper".

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel turned to Pistorius saying: "Did you see what happened to the watermelon? It exploded, that's what happened to Reeva's head. It had the same effect into her head.”

Pistorius replied that his comment was “distasteful”, telling the court: “It was made with reference to a watermelon and not to Reeva”.

3) Steenkamp’s bloodied head

Gasps were heard in court as a graphic photo of Steenkamp’s bloodied head was shown by the prosecution without warning.

Steenkamp's mother June was held tightly by a friend in the front of the court as the photo of her daughter with blood and tissue on her blonde hair was shown.

But Pistorius refused to look at the photo, saying: "I won't look at the picture and be tormented. As I picked up Reeva, my hand touched her head. I remember. I was there. I don't have to look at a picture. I was there."

Pistorius's lawyer Barry Roux said the picture was “uncalled for”, while social media was set alight with shocked reactions from across the globe.

4) WhatsApp messages

Hours were spent examining WhatsApp text messages between Pistorius and Steenkamp.

While most were normal and loving, Steenkamp sent one just weeks before she was shot on 14 February 2013, telling Pistorius: “I’m scared of you sometimes and how you snap at me and how you will react to me”.

The message began: "You have picked on me excessively...I do everything to make you happy and you do everything to throw tantrums..."

The line was part of a long Whatsapp text she sent him on 27 January where she expressed concern over his behaviour at a lunch they had attended, which she said they had to leave early because of him.

5) The ‘Pit Bull’

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel showed the world why his cross-examinations have earned him the nickname pit bull, as he pummelled Pistorius with questions from the outset.

The athlete’s face turned red as Nel tore into him in the opening cross-examination.

Nel began: "Mr Pistorius, you were, and you still are, one of the most recognised faces in the world, do you agree?"

Pistorius replied: "I agree, my lady."

Nel: "You are a model for sportsmen, disabled and able-bodied, all over the world?"

Pistorius: "I think I was, my lady. But I've made a terrible mistake…"

Nel: "You made a mistake?"

Pistorius: "That's correct, my lady."

Nel: “You killed a person. That's what you did, isn't it?"

Pistorius: "I made a mistake, my lady."

Nel: "You killed Reeva Steenkamp. That's what you did."

Pistorius: "I made a mistake, my lady."

Nel: "You're repeating it three times. What was your mistake?"

Pistorius: "My mistake was that I took Reeva's life, my lady."

Nel: "You killed her. You shot and killed her. Won't you take responsibility for that?"

Pistorius: "I did, my lady."

Nel: "Say it. Say 'Yes, I shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp'."

Pistorius: "I did, my lady."
