We continue with our coverage of day five of the Oscar Pistorius murder trial, taking place at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria. Find Friday morning’s updates here.


15:44 - And that's it for the week. Our coverage will continue but I for one am going try avoiding all things related to Oscar Pistorius. Except maybe the Sunday papers. And hourly news briefs. And tweets. So basically I'm not actually avoiding all things OP. Damn. Cheers. 


15:43 - 


15:14 - Oscar's sister, Aimee, in court on Friday. (Theana Breugem, Media24)



15:01 - Pistorius, for some reason, looking suddenly very tearful. Clutches a folded tissue, hugs cousins, aunts, sister. Hands are shaking, tweets the UK Telegraph's Aislinn Laing.


14:51Court adjourns. Nel wants to come back at 10:00 on Monday. "Monday has its own character," says Nel. Roux prefers to starts earlier at 09:30. Agree to start at 09:30. 


14:50 - PB adamant OP said everything, not him, is fine.  OP's exact words were: "Security, everything is fine." BR to deal with this on Monday.


14:49 - PB: OP said 'security, everything is fine." 


14:49 - Baba: is adamant that he spoke to Pistorius first.


14:47 - Roux says OP made a call to security cell number at 03.21.33. Baba: That was time OP called me but he was crying too much.


14:46 - Nel says they have on record a different number for the estate compared to the number defence has.


14:45 - Baba: Stipp said I must look where gunshots were coming from.


14:44 - BR: We have document that gives calls made to landline of security ...Stipp made a call at 03:15:51.


14:42 - OP is crying, has his head in his hands while listening to PB testify. 


14:41 - PB doesn't know site cellphone number off by heart. 


14:40 -  Baba says he passed OP house less than an hour earlier and all was fine and quiet. After 02:20.


14:38 - Roux takes Baba through points in document relating to times at which guard track was activated - 02:20 that night.


14:36 - BR puts up photo of the guard track checking point right next to Pistorius' house


14:35 - Baba reveals that tracker will show if guards haven't been patrolling. There's a clock in point at OP house.


14:33 - BR asks about a tracking device on the vehicles guards use to patrol the estate.

14:32 - He called the Boschkop police captain, says PB. OP is "clenching his jaw, wiping away tears", says The Guardian's David Smith.

14:30 - Stander told me to call the police and ambulance, says PB.


14:28 - PB: No one opened the door for us. Mrs Stander opened the door and went in. Mr Stander stood at the door.


14:28 - PB: I was so shocked because OP told me everything was fine and I arrived to find him carrying Reeva down.


14:26 - PB says he didn't even know what clothes OP was wearing...I was shocked.


14:25 - PB: we followed him. As we arrived Pistorius came down the stairs with Reeva.  I was so shocked that I couldn't even think for a few moments."


14:25 - Baba: Stander didn’t even greet me, he ran directly to the house.


14:24 - Baba: Estate manager Stander and his daughter arrived at the house. I could see on their faces something had happened.


14:22 - Baba talks about driving to house, seeing doctor on balcony opposite OP's house. Says lights were on at OP house. I went to Pistorius' house and made calls to his house...Pistorius said to me he's fine, but he was crying. The line went off...I told [other guard] all was not right


14:21 - Baba: I immediately drove to Pistorius’ house. When I arrived there, I called Pistorius on the phone.


14:19 - Baba: I sent Ndimande back to see when shots had come from... I drove to Stipp's house...he showed me the accused's house. Dr Stipp pointed directly at OP house. The light was on.


14:18 - The guard on bike duty reported that he heard gunshots, says Baba (PB). Told driver of bakkie I want to drive with him to find out where gunshots were coming from. 


14:18 - Baba says after patrol...around 02:55 I was back at the gate, guard on bike duty arrived, Ndimande.


14:17 - Baba says the guards use cellphones and a landline as a means of communication with the residents.


14:15 - Some reporters, such as Alex Crawford from Sky News in the UK, has trouble understanding the translator: "Baba is describing what happened that night. Translator is little difficult to understand," she tweets.


14:15 - Baba: I decided to have a look, number 194's small gate was open, Stipp's siding door was open...they were feeling hot.


14:14 - Baba said a patrol man reported that several residents gates were open.


14:12 - Baba says they close one access gate at 20:00 and a 21:00 all gates are closed.


14:12 - Baba: i was told Steenkamp had left earlier with laundry...came back...Pistorius came few minutes after her, on his cellphone.


14:10 - I didn't call Oscar for permission, Reeva had already been there during the day already.


14:09 - Baba was on duty on 14 February 2013. He was at gate and saw Reeva enter at 18:00. Baba says Reeva was alone in the car when she arrived. They spoke. 


14:04 - Baba: If the visitor doesn't know the owner's stand number they must give name & number of owner. I phone the owner for access.


14:03 - Baba describes the procedure for signing visitors into the complex by taking the licence of the person and number of vehicle.


13:59 - Has worked there for about two years. Five guards work on shift. He's shift leader. 


13:58 - We're back. New witness. Silverwoods security guard Pieter Baba.


13:54 -  Counsel has returned from lunch. Oscar is back in the dock. Looks like it’ll start soon.


13:50 - In November 2012, City Press published an interview with Samantha Taylor in which she said Pistorius "is not what people think". 

“Where is Samantha?” people asked when Pistorius and Steenkamp arrived in the same car and posed smiling for the cameras on the red carpet of the SA Sports Illustrated awards. 

He was in an Armani suit, she was in a short, pink, tassled frock. 

“We’re just friends. I promise I’ll tell you if there’s anything more,” Steenkamp said.

“It’s just a coincidence that we’re sitting at the same table and arrived in the same car,” she told City Press, blushing. 

Later she was spotted at Pistorius’ side during the winners’ press conference, and at the end of the evening they left together.


13:25 - Oscar Pistorius does not scream like a woman, his ex-girlfriend told the North Gauteng High Court on Friday.

"It is the accused's case that if he screams, and if he's really anxious, he screams like a woman," prosecutor Gerrie Nel said to witness Samantha Taylor.

"That is not true," the willowy blonde replied, later adding: "It sounded like a man, My Lady."
