ANC starts campaign trail in North West

2011-02-08 16:35

Johannesburg - The ANC's local election campaign will start in the North West at the end of February, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said on Tuesday.

The party's local election manifesto would be launched on February 27 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the North West, he said.

ANC branches in six provinces had completed their nominations for candidates ahead of the 2011 municipal elections.

"... The provincial executive committees... are now finalising our local candidates for the local government elections," Mantashe said in Johannesburg after an extended meeting of the ANC national working committee.

A date for the polls has not yet been announced, but they could take place sometime between April and May.

Interesting how these bafoons stay in power. Maybe the DA too should exploit the ignorance and stupidity of the masses.

      Hans-Erik Iken - 2011-02-12 15:55

No need for that, the massescan be fooled some of the time but not all of the time. Let the DA just do what they do best: run their municipalities and their province the way it should be run. Eventually the rest of the country will wake up and change their vote. There is sti a long hard way ahead before the ANC loses theirsacred halo of fighting apartheid and being the only (perceived) party that cares for the masses. But once that is lost it will remain lost and then people can vote for results instead of rhetoric.

JZ only has a standard 2 he has not even achieved the age of accountability in his mind intellectually or emotionally his bad behaviour over and over again is the example. He does not even know right from wrong. He thinks his "umthondo" is for playing with that is why he has so many children. Just abandon voting for his load of rubbish he offers.

      VM1 - 2011-02-08 21:53

@revealthemall your hate and your disrespect for the other poeple and their cultures is displayed by your comment. You and your ilk hide behind you computer screens typing this drivel. Why can't you be brave and voice these in a public platform if you feel that strong about the president. I am sure even the FF Plus wll not want to be associated with you. During daylight you preach forgiveness and tolerance and at night you type these things on this forum. My friend, let me ask you to stop these as other poeples' cultures are concerned here. Imagine if Zulu poeple will start going for every culture that different to theirs. Emigrate and leave us to sort our issues.

  • mpanzame - 2011-02-08 19:20

I can see it now - "Waaan fooood pusssel, waaaan vote".. or "Vote ANC - see what we have done for us", or better yet "A vote for the ANC brings you closer to the lotto winning ticket". And the response from the community - "Viva !!!" (before going back to the tin shack to share a cabbage.....)

  • VM1 - 2011-02-08 19:21

We will continue to vote for the ANC - the comment by Homo Sapien and lean just confirm why I need to Vote again . Your comments reflect the majority of the white sentiment and all theose formal and informal discussions you have with you friend. In fact I will take it a step further - I will organise all my friends and do the door to door campaign again to remind and emphasise that a vote for anyone else will be a wasted vote and your comments tells me what you think of us black poeple - "Ignorant and stupid" (Not in your surburbs but where it matters most - the black majority) - One Man One Vote.

How do they stay in power? They (the ANC) are supported surreptitiously by the Council of Foreign Relations and the UN. That's how! The plan is world facist-style socialism. The ANC are going to drive the economy into the ground by various meansfor example by overloading the welfare system, and making essential services like water treatmet defunct. Paving the way for a socialist revolution (kind of what's happening in Egypt right now).
