ANC to launch election music album

2011-02-19 20:40

Johannesburg - Cadres have been deployed to the North West to begin the build up to the election campaign launch, which includes a music album, on February 27 in Rustenberg, the ANC said.

"With the upcoming local government elections not far off, the ANC has pulled all the stops in gearing up for the launch of its election manifesto and campaign taking place next Sunday at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg," said spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said in a statement on Saturday.

A fund-raising gala will be held on February 26 at the Sun City Superbowl to launch the ANC election music album.

The album will feature artists Arthur, Chomee, Oskido, Professor, Chicco Twala, Deborah Fraser and Ihash' Elimhlophe among others.

"ANC cadres serving on the organisation’s highest decision-making body, the National Executive Committee, have already been deployed to engage in mini rallies, door-to-door- work as well as walkabouts as part of a mass mobilisation build-up to the manifesto launch."

Mthembu said the party expected 50 000 people to attend the launch which will be addressed by President Jacob Zuma.

He said the event would also be attended by foreign diplomats, dignitaries from the business community and religious and traditional leaders.

The party and its alliance partners will also be holding an Alliance Summit on February 24 and 25 in Pretoria and a National Working Committee meeting will take place on February 21 in Midrand.

Well I hope they can sing better than they can run a country. Can't even run a bath. These cadres better not come knocking on my door because I'll chase them away just like the dogs that they are.

Hey VM1, Bizarre how your regular apologist's attitude is starting to fade, as your cronies' grade school Looney Tunes jingles, are even driving the deranged (viz yourself) over the edge... Better be prepared brother - it will soon be translated into Chinese, and you will have to sing it every morning as you bow to the New Emperor. Failing which you may just really "lose your head". Ha ha ha ha ha ha - there is a God!!!

So will the music album then consist of songs such as "Tell Me What I Did Wrong" by James Brown; "Born To Lose" by UFO;"You Just Can't Win" by Gene And Jerry;"I started something I couldn't finish" by The Smiths;"I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down" by Sam & Dave;"Born To Lose" by Soft Cell; "Failure" by Swans;"You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones, and "I've Been Watching You" by Parliament.

      Rolie - 2011-02-19 22:19

'I looked in the mirror and using both my hands I still couldn't find my asshole' would be an appropriate song!!

  • Pilgrim - 2011-02-20 01:36

The ANC has discovered the weakness of the masses, even their own cadre’s – cheap thrills collect votes. Free T-shirts, food parcels, and now music. What, I wonder, are they doing to obtain “white” votes? Instead, they drive them away by singing their racist "Kill the Boer" song.

On the one hand, the ANC says the Shoot the Boer song is harmless, on the other hand they are using song as an extremely potent electioneering tool. Tweegat jakkalse.
