Johannesburg - Flags flew at half-mast across the country on Monday to honour three ANC members who have died in the past week, the ANC Women's League said.

"We salute you all, thank you for your contributions and we [will] continue the work of the mass democratic movement in your honour," spokesperson Troy Martens said in a statement.

"It has been an extremely sad week for the African National Congress, we have seen three of our beloved comrades pass away."

Former co-operative governance minister Sicelo Shiceka died in an Eastern Cape hospital last Monday.

Public Service and Administration Minister Roy Padayachie, 62, died in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Friday. He was attending an African Peer Review Mechanism meeting.

ANC MP Florence Nyanda died in her home province of Mpumalanga on Saturday.

The ANCWL sent its condolences to all three families.
