Johannesburg - Flags flew at half-mast across the country on Monday to honour three ANC members who have died in the past week, the ANC Women's League said.

"We salute you all, thank you for your contributions and we [will] continue the work of the mass democratic movement in your honour," spokesperson Troy Martens said in a statement.

"It has been an extremely sad week for the African National Congress, we have seen three of our beloved comrades pass away."

Former co-operative governance minister Sicelo Shiceka died in an Eastern Cape hospital last Monday.

Public Service and Administration Minister Roy Padayachie, 62, died in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Friday. He was attending an African Peer Review Mechanism meeting.

ANC MP Florence Nyanda died in her home province of Mpumalanga on Saturday.

The ANCWL sent its condolences to all three families.

"we [will] continue the work of the mass democratic movement" in other words, we will continue to screw the South African population by stealing and plundering everything possible through blatant corruption and afterwards laugh in the faces of the stupid poor voting fodder. Amandla!

In all due respect to those that passed away, I think the only people that will be mourning are the ANC. The rest of South Africa is sick and tired of corrupt politicians who promise a lot, and do little if nothing!

I think the flags must permanently be left at half mast for all people murdered and raped in this country every day. Why only acknowledge people because they were ANC members?

      Michael Green - 2012-05-07 20:37

      Amen to that!
