ANCYL conference delayed

Midrand - The ANC Youth League's national general council (NGC) was delayed for more than four hours in Midrand on Wednesday.
The mid-term policy conference was meant to begin at 11:00, but was not close to starting by 15:00.
Spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said more delegates were expected and that the NGC could not start without them.
They were apparently still registering, a process which was supposed to have been completed on Tuesday.
Shivambu could not say when the NGC would start.
The rest of the delegates sang songs and socialised while they waited. Staff at the venue spent their time setting out tables laden with ANCYL T-shirts, caps and bags.
Johanna Machaba said she did not mind waiting because the NGC was an important gathering and everyone had to be present.
100% + 1 for Malema
Sharon Mafafo, who arrived in Johannesburg from Limpopo on Monday, was at the registration centre on Wednesday.
"We are tired now," she said, adding that proceedings had to conclude by Friday afternoon. "We are going back on Friday. They must finish."
Daniel Bambo, who described himself as a "100% plus one" Malema supporter, wanted the NGC to make a resolution on the "2012 leadership question".
Agreeing with him, Portia Thobane said the ANC needed young blood.
Earlier, Malema supporters ridiculed ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe and ANCYL deputy president Andile Lungisa in song, praising ANCYL President Julius Malema and Deputy Police Minister Fikile Mbalula.
"Gwede, what you are doing is not all right; Blade Nzimande, you are wrong," they sang.
Another song went: "Andile Lungisa, we put you at Luthuli House and all you did there was sleep. What's this stupidity? Voetsek".
They also sang that Malema should not fear because the power was his.
