ANCYL leader sorry for stoning comments

2012-08-13 19:12

Johannesburg - Limpopo ANC Youth League chairperson Rudzani Ludere apologised on Monday for saying that Education MEC Dickson Masemola should be stoned.

"Following a thorough political engagement with ANC Limpopo officials today, I apologise for saying that comrade Dickson Masemola must be stoned," Ludere said in a statement.

"However, we still maintain our strong view that... [he] must either resign or be fired from the position he holds... [in] the Limpopo department of education because he has failed the people of Limpopo and embarrassed the ANC."

Earlier the provincial executive committee called on Ludere to apologise and retract his statements.

"His statements were harmful not only to the person against whom they are made; but they also bring the organisation into disrepute and are dangerous to the unity and cohesion of the movement," provincial secretary Soviet Lekganyane said in a statement.

Ludere reportedly told people in Polokwane on Monday that they should unleash anarchy on Masemola.

"Even if he comes through government, you must just go there and disrupt and sing and even throw stones," he said.

"Comrade Dickson Masemola has no platform in this province. If he wants to address the people, he must go and address them in KwaZulu-Natal, not here," Ludere added.

He said Masemola was partly to blame for the delay in the delivery of textbooks in Limpopo schools.

The gathering was attended by axed African National Congress Youth League president Julius Malema.

So, ANC, how's your policy of nurturing junior members, rather than kicking them up the butt, working out for you?

I find it strange that he didn't blame apartheid.

What the hell is wrong with Limpopo? Seems that everything and everyone coming out of that failed province, is a disaster and a national embarrassment.

      mzinimlanjeni - 2012-08-13 20:22

I think one day we are going to have a bloodbath in this country. Not between black and white but between black leaders who got so powerhungry that they will do anything to stay on top. Anarchy is coming and its going to be bad.

  • lizette.versteegh - 2012-08-13 19:41

Eish.... Another ANCYL president who can't keep his mouth shut in public. Is 'putting your foot in your mouth' a compulsory qualification to enter this party?

  • sandy.langenstrass - 2012-08-13 19:50

The ancyl need to learn to THINK BEFORE they talk....for goodness sake, you have the youth listening to your words. THINK BEFORE YOU TALK !!! You must realize, in a community, you could have some unbalanced people, who could take your words literally....and actually carry out what you had spurted our your mouth...SO THINK FIRST, BEFORE YOU TALK.

  • velvybokov - 2012-08-13 19:50

When in a leadership position there is no such thing as \sorry\. It is evident that the new leadership of the youth league did not learn from the mistakes of the old. The ANCYL do not stop shooting their mouthes off. Like baby julias these idiots don't know how to keep quiet. But I for one am greatful, because the more they show their stupidity the more ppl become disillisioned with the ANC and will hopefully eventually try a new alternative called DA.

A classic case of lack of books and education proving the Limpopo region to be totally void of any educated, forward thinking individual worthy of their position, but then again he does have a point !!

That behavior in the anc is totally unacceptable because also the constitution of the ancyl is very clear in terms of code of conduct. Apology is a good thing but that leader must be hauled before desiplinary committee of the movement to comrades he influenced to make wrong thing in the organization that, doing those wrong things will find themselves in conflict of the constitution.

  • iceman196 - 2012-08-13 20:39

Rudzani Ludere , Please stop talking so much crap, You want the kids to be uneducated as they are your future voters to keep you and your criminals on the gravy train

  • khopotso.selepe - 2012-08-13 20:43

ANC must correct the matter instead of blaming one another, then after the matter have been corrected, then Dickson Masemola must be accountable for for his deeds.

  • suffer.kate.9 - 2012-08-13 21:02

If you tell a mob of unruly people that someone should be stoned, they will more than likely do it given half the chance - which is conspiracy to commit murder on this idiots' part. People of this country need to start progressing into a civilised society, rather than clining to archaic, neanderthal behaviour of stoning people they disagree with, dislike or apportion blame to. Sadly, this cr@p is coming from a Youth League leader... so hopes of a civil society devoloping in this country are further away than we think. People are regressing instead of moving forward.

  • Vince.York - 2012-08-13 21:25

Seemingly these youth only understand one thing now! Fawn at the table where the fountain of taxpayers funds largesse emanates. Be as rude & stupid as possible, then fawn & grovel for more tax payers funds. Open a Trust Company and exercise untrustworthy dealings and business, then grovel for more taxpayers funds. 'Never' give astute consideration to the mechanics and checks and balances of democratic dispensations, then fawn & grovel for more tax payers funds. Happily step over litter and garbage and wreck anything your beautiful black mind decides is a target for attention, then fawn & grovel for tax payers funds. Follow the worlds most widely known failed policies, then fawn & grovel for more tax payers funds. Extract budgetry funds from all the states allocations as corruptly as possible, then go fawn & grovel for more taxpayers funds. Smile as happily as can be when targeting young women as chattels, load them with unwanted kids, then DEMAND more taxpayers funds, to keep up with the leader. Take a free homeland house with plot and animals, then a free city dwelling in EACH city, then go live in squalid townships and RENT or SELL invaded property AND THEN FAWN & GROVEL FOR MORE TAXPAYERS FUNDS. Behave in the most unappealing disreputable manner, then fawn & grovel for more taxpayers funds. .......it doesn't take too much to realize that something has gone seriously wrong in the development of the general youth psyche - and it's generally of a political nature

Can we get objective views on the topics please. Its wonderful that we can engage, but everytime i read the comments, i get the feeling that we play the man more than the ball! It should not be interpreted as racist, but the sign are so obvious at times. Do any of you white folks have anything good to say about any article that involves a NON WHITE politician. Interesting, the war of words tends to be onesided, not sure whether its great minds thinking alike or.... Not for me to say, before labelled Racist. Love this country!

      vernon.samuel.7 - 2012-08-14 14:59

I agree. I very often see regular contributor's name and know exactly what they will say. And it does invariably work along either racial lines or ANC/DA lines. Some commentators miss the point of articles totally and just start bashing either party or either race. Maybe it helps them to vent their frustrations, I don't know. But there are some people that I enjoy engaging with, because the give intelligent responses, not just emotional ones.

  • peter.jefferies.90 - 2012-08-14 08:22

If the ANCYL is so worried about embarrassing the ANC then they should shut down themselves!!! It does amazing me at how blinded so many peple are to this education issue!! You are deluded if you think the ANC does not know who did this as they are more then likely the ones who gave the instruction to do it. The ANC knows that its power lies with the uneducated, if too many people get an education it means that they will stop voting for the ANC because they will realise that the current ANC is built on lies and money hungry people who don't care about the poor or anything other then getting rich!! This includes Julius Malema!

  • komorison - 2012-08-14 08:32

  • gary.clark.376 - 2012-08-14 09:03

Cmrde Ludere you continue to display leadership of pasted sms circulars,to date your leadership which should have equal concern for young people of Limpopo have not responded to save situation, you are simply anarchist who should feel free to from that new party called FYL!Cmrde Dickson from his young ages as disciplined cadre he never uttered this sorts of violent comments because he is a disciplie member of teh organization with unconditional rights!

  • eyesears.handsfeet - 2012-08-14 09:40

Why apologize ludere? That is the mind-set that you were brought up with and probably are still looking at at the "political academy". The only problem is that you are not allowed to say it out loud. The "history" that you have come accustomed to, the behind-the-scenes anc that most became to know. Is it any wonder that some needed a so-called "mind-set change" but for the anc it is acceptable to continue with the "new educated history and political" mind-set that your leaders are teaching you? How some people trust the anc to do the right thing, is beyond me. With them it is only right when it suits the anc. No regard for law, human or country, if it is not in their (anc) favour. Yes, I have learnt what the anc is all about over the 18 years. Not "education or examples of discipline" desired for a democratic society.

  • magomarele - 2012-08-14 11:06

ANCYL in Limpopo never criticised Masemola about the textbooks saga untill he defected to Zuma camp. In fact, they sided with him through-out and when they heard that he defected to Zuma camp, because Zuma was threatening to fire him, they started an all out war against him. Stupid ANC politics.
