ANCYL spokesperson nominated for NEC

Bloemfontein - Former Gauteng Housing MEC Humprey Mmemezi
and former ANC Youth League spokesperson Magdalene Moonsamy were on the list of
nominations for the ANC's national executive committee (NEC) at the party's
Mangaung conference on Tuesday.
Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale joined the list
of candidates for the NEC after he was nominated for a position in the top six.
The list of candidates also included Health Minister Aaron
Motsoaledi, ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu, Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa,
Mining Minister Susan Shabangui, and former Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni.
Former Western Cape Premier Ebrahim Rasool, former Chief
Whip Tony Yengeni, Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel, Rural Development
Minister Gugile Nkwinti, former National Police Commissioner Bheki Cele and
Gauteng Premier Novula Mokonyane were also nominated.
Others nominated were former ANCYL treasurer Pule Mabe,
former mayor of Johannesburg Amos Masondo, Gauteng Education MEC Barbara Creecy,
Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi, former Director-General of the Presidency
Frank Chikane, Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim and State Security Minister
Siyabonga Cwele.
Joining them was Cosatu President Sidumo Dlamini, Western
Cape Cosatu leader Tony Ehrenreich, Social Development Minister Bathabile
Dlamini and former deputy minister of public enterprises, Enoch Godongwana.
