ANCYL takes action against official

2012-02-20 08:28

Durban - A vote of no confidence has been brought against the ANC Youth League's eThekwini regional chairperson Jomo Sibiya, the league's regional executive committee (REC) said on Sunday.

"[This follows] numerous efforts to engage him to refrain from activities that bring the organisation into disrepute," it said a statement.

"[However, he] continued with deliberate actions to divide the ANCYL and bring the ANCYL into disrepute.

"We must be in a position to carry out the twin tasks of the ANCYL at all times with discipline and unity."

The resolution was taken at a special REC meeting on Saturday.

The REC cautioned branches to refrain from participating in any wrongdoing or any anti-ANCYL and anti-ANC activities, as these "seek to undermine theā€¦ organisation's constitution, culture and tradition".

Anyone participating in such activities would automatically be suspended, it said.

The REC also dished out suspensions to a group of youth league members who toyi-toying outside the ANC office during the meeting. Their suspensions take effect with immediate effect pending the investigation," it said.

"A decision was also taken that anyone who insults leadership on Facebook will also be taken through disciplinary action, as we all have the responsibility to defend and protect our leaders."

      Mike - 2012-02-20 09:07

Oh, so it is ok when the ancyl brings the party into disrepute? Then they start crying as it is their right and they only followed "protocol"....!? Now suddenly the parents are also at the same fault and the little baby is throwing tantrums again??! A bloody good hiding for this baby is the only solution to this problem!

      Penny-wise - 2012-02-20 09:36

BAWAHAHA, is this a joke !!!??? I thought EVERYTHING the ANCYL does, brings them into disrepute. They're ALL useless !!!

      procold2 - 2012-02-20 16:08

      George - 2012-02-21 14:46

But they all bring the yl disrepute, what ever they do. Full stop

  • ludlowdj - 2012-02-20 08:45

The ANCYL is in itself a true terrorist offspring of its mother body, and as we all know two terrorist organisations do not a democracy make.

  • mholthuysen - 2012-02-20 08:47

Yay lets go and play in the sand box a never ending circus - my view ANCYL = African National Clowns Young Loosers

      richard.hipkin - 2012-02-20 10:07

@Putin, when insulting people make sure you use correct grammar. Placing a full stop at the end of a sentence is what you learn in grade 3.

How did they discipline malema for taking the lead in singing a song that ridicules zuma?

      Penny-wise - 2012-02-20 09:38

No, they are disciplining Malema because he's a racist, militant, immature, troublemaker who is going to be prosecuted by the Hawks for his corruption. Malema can then lead his troops in prison. BAWAHAHAHA !!!

      Marion - 2012-02-20 09:57

      Good question Ndumiso...

      Lelo - 2012-02-20 10:22

How on earth did it come to pass that Malema became the president of any organisation?Oh ja...we do have a president who less educated than my 16 year old niece...but wait...how did that happen?Oh ja...it was all thanx to the South African majority who cast their votes based on colour...not actual potential for delivery... What did they get in the end?Oh ja...a government with an offspring that is so corrupt it makes the word "corrupt" look like an understatement...What is their excuse?"Apartheid and white people made us do it"(Pathetic...I know) Sad thing is, it is affecting all South Africans...not just those who voted the ANCorruption into power.(Unfair...I know).Let alone the fact that those who voted for them are getting poorer each day! I feel that I speak for a lot of South Africans who share this sentiment when I say the ANCorruption and their league of USELESS LOSERS have really inflicted more damage to this nation and have made a joke out of our country. It's a damn shame.

  • Siphiwo - 2012-02-20 09:12

I think we should let the ANCYL deal with these matters. As we know, there isn't a house without its challenges.

      Penny-wise - 2012-02-20 10:37

The ANCYL couldn't deal with a pile of cow dung. They need help because they all just little children...

      customdesign - 2012-02-20 10:51

Malema and co brought the ANCYL into more disrepute than this guy did, most people dont even know who he is

      barabus2012 - 2012-02-20 11:52

Siphiwo, dont take after the anc with this 'challenge' thingi. Its simple, there is no challenge... there is only a problem. And with that problem comes a solution or many solutions. Apply the solution and voila... the problem is gone. A challenge on the other hand simply states this... we have a 'challenge'... lets try this and if we fail, well we can try something else cause its a challenge. The former deals effectively with a problem, the latter works on trial and error basis. Thats a big problem!!

  • Shaun Robinson - 2012-02-20 09:21

Oh well this is a bit hypocritical... He is obviously just taking his cue from his well fed and illiterate leader king Julies. You can't punish him for being humble and following the lead...

  • Ryan - 2012-02-20 09:51

By "anti-ANCYL" I reckon they mean "Anti-Malema". They will purge the YL of anyone that does not support this misfit. Democracy at its finest low.

      Marion - 2012-02-20 10:00

Actually, I don't think its a problem if they purge the ANCYL... perhaps those who can see the craziness that exists within the ANCYL can find a different political home where their sanity can be rewarded.

  • Sean - 2012-02-20 09:54

    And Malema DIDNT?

  • Marion - 2012-02-20 09:57

ROFLMAO... does the ANCYL even understand the irony of this situation? And this comment leaves me quivering in my shoes 'ANYONE who insults leadership through facebook' .... well I insult certain ANCYL leaders all the time, so what are you going to do about it? Surely you should state that 'any ANCYL member who insults....' ????

      PB - 2012-02-20 15:49

I would not be so sure about that Marion - Vusi has received very negative attention from the ANCYL on his fb, and he is as far removed from being a ANCYL member as you could get!

  • Lelo - 2012-02-20 10:05

"This follows] numerous efforts to engage him to refrain from activities that bring the organisation into disrepute," How ironic...talk about double standards...well then I again, this is the ANCYL....what a bunch of clueless Tokoloshes! When are they disbanding this League of Exaordinary Dumb a-s-s-es?

  • martin.vandermerwe - 2012-02-20 10:17

    What a f2345235ing joke, and Malema did'nt????

  • Michelle - 2012-02-20 10:58

OH MAN! what a bunch of clowns... People, behaviour filters down from the top! If your "head honcho" aka Juliarse Malema acts like a degenerate you can't really expect anything better from his minions.

  • reza.daniels1 - 2012-02-20 11:01

    The irony is killing me......

  • John - 2012-02-20 11:53

Translated meaning... "Anyone who is opposed to Malema and the current leaders of the ANCYL will be expelled" "Their suspensions take effect with immediate effect pending the investigation," it said..... Different rules for different folk?? Wouldn't work for malema and his co-jerks...

  • Thandi - 2012-02-20 13:09

Fatboy Malema - you are fat twat with the brains of a slug, as well as all your idiotic cronies (eg Floyd whatever) that run this moronic organisation called the ANCYL. There, i have insulted your leadership on facebook, so try disciplining me.

  • Collen Masetla - 2012-02-21 13:34

Remove them all Juju. We need a united ANCYL where now trusted leaders are elected unopposed just like during our conference. As for uncle malusi gigaba, sir, you remain useless.
